Psycho-oncology

Our team believes that soul and body health are inseparable. Therefore, it is important that patients diagnosed with cancer and their families receive the most appropriate psychological support during and after treatment.

Cancer diagnosis, surgical interventions, chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments point to a physically, psychologically and socially challenging period. This period predisposes people to psychological distress such as anxiety disorders, depressive affect, adjustment difficulties, changes in personality traits. During this period, which is critical for the patient and their families, our psychologists aim to increase the quality of life by supporting both the patient and their families in psychological, emotional and functional aspects in the context of psycho-oncology studies.
Accordingly, the goal of the department is to understand the diagnosed patient or the patient who will receive treatment by organizing a meeting with them, evaluate their condition together and choose the best support program for them. This may include individual psychotherapy, family support or group support. Research shows that inclusion of psychological support in the course of cancer disease helps the patient and their families to get through the treatment process more easily and harmoniously. For this reason, we accompany our cancer patients not only medically but also psychologically.
