What is Peripheral Nerve Block?

Peripheral nerve block is a treatment used for pain associated with cancer, chronic pain that does not respond to other treatments, and to provide pain control before painful procedures.  With this method, nerve fibers that transmit pain sensations to the corresponding organs are blocked. The operation can be permanent or temporary.
