Pediatric Cardiology

At Pediatric Cardiology Division of Istinye University Bahçeşehir Liv Hospital, congenital and acquired heart diseases of all children –from fetus to 18 years old children- are diagnosed and treated.

Following diseases are diagnosed and treated at Pediatric Cardiology division:

•    Fetal heart screening, detailed fetal cardiac examination (evaluation of morphology)
•    Fetal arrhythmia and treatment of fetal arrhythmia (fetal supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, fetal bradycardia, fetal heart blocks)
•    Cardiac murmur (systolic, diastolic)
•    Acyanotic congenital heart diseases (ASD, VSD, PDA, Pulmonary stenosis, Aortic Stenosis etc.)
•    Cyanotic congenital heart diseases (Tetralogy of Fallot, Eisenmenger syndrome, pulmonary atresia, double-outlet right ventricle, Anomalous pulmonary venous return, etc.)
•    Acquired heart diseases (infective endocarditis, acute rheumatoid fever, Kawasaki disease, myopericarditis, postoperative problems, cardiac dysfunction secondary to drugs and toxic agents, cardiomyopathies, etc.)
•    Cardiac tumors (rhabdomyoma, myxoma, fibroma, teratoma)
•    Cardiac evaluation before sports (ECG, ECHO and Stress test)
•    Diagnostic cardiac catheterization 
•    Therapeutic cardiac catheterization (non-surgical closure of ASD, VSD and PDA, balloon valvuloplasty, stent implantation)
•    Arrhythmias (supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia, short QT syndrome, Torsades de Pointes, sinus bradycardia, sick sinus syndrome, postoperative blocks)
•    Ablative therapy for arrhythmia (Radiofrequency and cryoablation)
•    Prevention of sudden cardiac death (ICD and CRT implantation)
•    Follow-up and revision of cardiac pacemakers
