The number of minimally invasive methods is increasing as an alternative to conventional surgery methods especially in the last 15 years in cardiac surgery. Especially in recent years, bypass surgery with robotic surgery provides a very important advantage in terms of patient comfort.
Robotic bypass with 3 holes opened from under the armpit and only 4-inch incision opening to the chest where the ribs are not touching the heart and without stopping the heart is possible to apply. With a camera placed in an incision, the 3D image is 8-10 times larger and a clearer image is provided. One surgeon wears surgical instruments on the robotic arms, the other surgeon uses these instruments on the console.
Coronary artery bypass surgery, mitral valve surgery, congenital cardiac surgery and arrhythmia surgery are performed in robotic surgery patients. Coronary artery bypass surgery is performed without stopping the heart or stopping the heart (using a heart-lung machine). Mitral valve operations are performed by stopping the heart.
