What is arrhythmia?

Arrhythmia is a condition that affects the heart's ability to beat in a regular and coordinated way. Normally, the heart beats in a certain pattern, but in an arrhythmia this pattern can be disrupted. The heart rate can become irregular, too fast or too slow. Arrhythmias are caused by irregular electrical impulses in certain areas of the heart, such as the atria or ventricles. These conditions can prevent the coordinated contraction of the heart muscles and disrupt the normal function of pumping blood.

Arrhythmia treatment at Liv Hospital

The Arrhythmia Clinic at Liv Hospital is designed to diagnose and treat heart rhythm disorders. The diagnosis of arrhythmia requires an ECG recording at the time of the arrhythmia. Rhythm Holter (event recording devices) are used for this purpose. The tilt table test, which is used to determine the cause of fainting, is also carried out in the arrhythmia clinic. Pacemaker patients are also monitored and pacemaker checks are carried out.
