Diabetes, hypertension, recurrent kidney inflammation, stone disease and nephritis are the most important causes of chronic kidney failure. Cystic kidney diseases can also lead to chronic kidney failure.

What is the Treatment of Chronic Kidney Failure?

Regardless of the cause, patients whose kidney function has decreased significantly should receive treatment to replace their kidney function. These methods are dialysis (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis) or kidney transplantation. Every patient diagnosed with end-stage renal failure and receiving dialysis treatment should be evaluated for suitability for kidney transplantation. Moreover, it is possible to receive a kidney transplant without starting dialysis. Therefore, every chronic kidney disease patient should receive this evaluation.
