Migraine Battery

Most people become unable to continue their daily life because of migraine attacks. However, the occipital nerve stimulation method, which is performed on treatment-resistant chronic migraine patients for the first time at Liv Hospital Pain Clinic stimulates the nerve that causes migraine pain with a special electrode and battery, reducing the pain up to 81%.  The electrode and battery that are placed under the skin with a small incision to the back of the patient's neck with a small operation can be controlled by a remote control.

Say goodbye to migraine attacks with the pain battery!

The battery placed in the patient allows the patient to activate the battery placed in the waist with a remote control, and turn it off when the pain subsides. The electrode is placed on the nerve that causes pain through a small incision on the skin of the back of the head under local anesthesia. The patient has to be awake during the insertion of the battery in order to be able to find the region that causes pain. The matchbox-sized battery is placed on the waist. The system is completely hidden under the skin and is not visible from the outside.

Remote Control

Electrodes that stimulate two branches of the occipital nerve are placed under the scalp for the system. When the patient activates the battery using the remote control, the electrode is energized and stimulates the occipital nerve. Thus, it blocks the fibers that only transmit pain, preventing the impulse from reaching the brain. The brain begins to forget the pain signals from that source, and ignores the impulses.
