Prolonged and recurrent abdominal pain may be a precursor to significant diseases.


 
Abdominal pain is not just in infancy; It is one of the most important health problems that disrupts the comfort of the individual and his / her family even in all children and youth. There are many organs that can cause pain in the abdomen, which starts at the bottom of the rib cage and reaches the groin. Although the reasons vary according to age, children who are too young to express their pain should be examined more carefully.

Pain, which lasts more than 3 months except for emergencies and affects the child's daily life, is considered as chronic abdominal pain. Such pain should be taken seriously and should be investigated.

Diseases such as inflammation of the stomach and intestine, gastritis, stomach ulcers, abdominal pain at all ages makes. Helicobacter pylori microbe causes pain when it causes disease.

If a few of these symptoms are observed in the child, a doctor should be consulted immediately. When the abdominal pain is first noticed in the child, the fever should be measured periodically, avoiding heavy foods and giving liquid and light foods.
 

How is it diagnosed?

The child who is admitted to the doctor with abdominal pain is asked for laboratory tests. Blood, urine and stool tests, abdominal film (x-ray), abdominal ultrasonography are performed. With simple tests, stomach and intestines may need to be investigated by endoscopic methods in abdominal pain which cannot be clarified .
